CCC-ECL Demonstration Project Completed
The External Cooling Loop Cryogenic Carbon Capture (CCC-ECL)
demonstration project reached a successful conclusion with a fully-integrated, small pilot demonstration
being tested on several different fuels including Powder River Basin Coal, natural gas, and a mixture of coal and biomass. In each case the CCC-ECL technology was able to demonstrate its robustness with over 95% carbon capture on untreated flue gas.

The Compressed Flue Gas Cryogenic Carbon Capture (CCC-CFG)
small pilot demonstration unit was tested
at the Brigham Young University (BYU) Heating Plant. The demonstration unit captured over 95% of the carbon from an exhaust slip-stream of an operating coal-fired boiler. The BYU heating plant burns coal from Utah mines through late fall each year in a grate boiler.
