Although Sustainable Energy Solutions is focused on the challenge of removing carbon from flue gas, what to do with it afterwards remains an important question. Many innovative scientists and engineers are working on high-value uses for captured CO2, including conversion into usable products, or as feedstock for creating biofuels. Additionally, CO2 can be used for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and to produce methane from coal seams.
Another option is geologic sequestration, such as SES' patented technology in which CO2 is stored underground in naturally occuring saline aquifers. This method allows stable storage of up to seven times more CO2 than traditional methods.
